Disassemble, inspect, turn and undercut commutators and bar to bar test, test motor fields and rewind if necessary, test motor interpoles and rewind if necessary, test mush and form coil armatures and rewind if necessary, test brush rigging for carbon and/or moisture presence (ground),  reseat new brushes, replace bearings, assemble and test.
